West Wood Health & Fitness Center takes an approach to health and wellness that goes beyond only the physical aspect with the hope to enhance every aspect of your life. Our approach empowers the whole person – body, mind, spirit and emotions – to enhance wellness and strengthen the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Physical Therapy

ProHealth Care’s physical medicine and rehabilitation services are available at West Wood. The physical therapists and athletic trainers have access to the entire fitness center, including the comprehensive fitness floor, large gym, aerobic studios, full lap swimming pool and warm water therapy pool.

The following services are available by physician referral:

• Full-service physical therapy for treatment of orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, sports medicine, post-surgery rehabilitation and aquatic therapy in the warm water therapy pool.
• Trigger point dry needling reduces muscle tightness in the neuromusculoskeletal system.
• TMJ rehabilitation manages jaw pain and dysfunction.
• Vestibular therapy improves balance, dizziness and vertigo.
• Aquatic therapy uses the weightlessness of water to take the pressure off joints, reducing pain.
• Cancer rehabilitation is a variety of services to support patients throughout their cancer treatment and beyond.
• Pelvic floor rehabilitation addresses bladder, bowel and pelvic conditions.

Nutritional Coaching

Nutrition Coaching is a key step to your well-being and overall health. Are you meeting your nutritional needs? Is a busy lifestyle making it difficult to eat in a healthful way? Meet with a Nutrition Coach to discuss your personal needs on a variety of nutritional topics. One of our Nutrition Coaches can help you with planning and reaching your nutritional goals!

Nutrition Consult Session One: 1 hour

• Body Composition Analysis
• Health History Questionnaire
• Verbal interview
• Client nutritional goals
• Personal stumbling blocks, triggers
• Food aversions, preferences, allergies
• Hydration history
• Exercise habits, daily activity level
• Physical assessment

Nutrition Consult Session Two: 1 hour

• Nutrition program is created and explained in depth

Nutrition Coaching Sessions: 30 minutes

• 30-minute sessions are to check in with client to monitor progress
• Analyze data if a food journal is kept
• Answer nutrition questions
• Make adjustments to program if needed
• Check current body composition and/or performance data

Educational Outreach

Health fair participation

Partner with ProHealth to promote health and wellness and your next health fair. We can provide:

• Health screenings, such as blood pressure tests and body-mass index (BMI) screenings
• Free educational materials on a wide range of health topics

Guest speakers

Look to ProHealth for informative, interesting guest speakers for your business, group, organization or school. Members of our speakers bureau can present on many topics, including:

• Behavioral and mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression and stress
• Cancer prevention
• Fall prevention
• Healthy lifestyle tips
• Heart and vascular care
• Nutrition
• Weight loss or management

Costs and eligibility

Any group can request health fair participation or a guest speaker from ProHealth Care. We give preference to events in Jefferson, Racine, Walworth and Waukesha counties in southeastern Wisconsin. There’s no cost to your group or organization.
