West Wood Health & Fitness Center offers a wide variety of group exercise classes designed to meet the needs of both fitness enthusiasts and those new to exercise classes. Each class is taught by a certified instructor, trained to provide an excellent, motivating class that is sure to make you want to come back again. Participants can feel comfortable jumping right into any of our classes, including yoga, pilates, cycling, pool aquatics and more.
In addition to our Group Fitness and Cycle Studios, we have our beautiful Mind Body Studio on the third floor. It’s a different kind of studio for a different kind of energy – a unique haven for the mind-body arts with personalized training that takes your workout further. Experience the power that Pilates brings to your core, the total body strength and flexibility of yoga, or the discipline of T’ai Chi/Qi Gong. Add to that TRX, Pilates Equipment Group Training, yoga or Pilates one-on-one training for deeper experiences that will add up to you; well-rounded, positive, strong, safe and flexible.
Medically Directed classes are available to members and the community. These classes provide appropriate exercise, that, when attended regularly, can improve various conditions. Classes offered include: arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Back Camp and Structurally Strong (addressing osteoporosis). We also offer pre and post natal water fitness. While these classes are free to West Wood members, community participants need to purchase a pass and get a physician recommendation before participating. The membership office at West Wood is happy to help with those details.
We offer an introductory package of three sessions for you to work one-on-one with an instructor in the private Pilates Studio. This allows you to learn the equipment and interact with an instructor at your pace as you gain confidence in your new Pilates method. Our dedicated Pilates Studio, located on the third floor has everything you need to sculpt your body into a stronger, longer structure. Your Pilates trainer will create a program based on your goals. You’ll love the individual attention or you can set up a duet package with a friend! The equipment, made by Peak Pilates, consists of the Cadillac, Reformer, barrels and boxes. Safety and beauty along with instructors who have spent years getting the highest quality education in Pilates set the standard for the best experience in the Lake Country area. Classes and training in the Mind-Body Studio and the Pilates Studio require registration and fees. Members of the community are welcome to join and West Wood members receive a discount.
The FIT zone is small group training instructed by Certified Personal Trainers. The workouts are designed around an 8-week progression that accommodates all fitness levels. Classes incorporate battle ropes, slam balls, kettlebells, plyometrics, TRX, and much more. The goal of the class is to challenge your body in new ways to help you continually see results. The FIT zone allows for the personal attention of a trainer in a group setting that focuses on camaraderie and accountability.
Group Indoor Cycling classes offer high-energy stationary bike workouts that increase cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength. We plan our workouts so that you can train in many different zones for a well-rounded workout throughout the week. Your certified instructor will encourage you to be the best you can, but know that personal intensity levels are your choice throughout the ride. These classes are well attended but no reservations are needed.
