Small Group Barre
This workout flows through high-powered sequences specifically targeting the arms, legs, and the core, resulting in a long, lean physique. This is a small group to provide more of an individualized workout.
We offer an introductory package of three sessions for you to work one-on-one with an instructor in the private Pilates Studio. This allows you to learn the equipment and interact with an instructor at your pace as you gain confidence in your new Pilates method.
Private Pilates Equipment Training
Private one-on-one or duet (one-on-two) training is available in packages of one-hour slots for 5, 10, or 20 sessions. These sessions take place in the private Pilates Studio. Scheduling is available seven days a week. Morning, noon and night times are available.
Group Pilates Equipment Training
It's a group, but it feels as intimate as semi-private training. Enjoy group classes on our new Deluxe Reformers and MVe Chairs. Classes run in eight-week sessions for up to four people. You also have the choice to form your own group of three or four people where you can buy packages of five, 10, or 20 sessions.
Mat Pilates Classes
This blended multi-level mat class will help yu tighten and tone your body by building lean muscle mass. Modifications will be given to fit everyone's needs and abilities.
Basic and Intermediate
Experience it here at West Wood. TRX suspension training is an innovative exercise tool that helps you build lean muscle, boost your metabolism, tighten your core and increase endurance. Choose from classes held in our Mind Body Studio. We offer basic and intermediate focused classes.
T'ai Ji/ Qi Gong - T'ai Chi
Tai Chi focuses on the development of structural strength, balance and whole-body coordination. By practicing Tai Chi your body and movements will become more flexible, efficient and powerful. Tai Chi is a form of moving meditation which will help to reduce stress and improve your mindfulness and mind-body coordination. This class is non-aerobic and low impact. It is beneficial and challenging for all ages and levels of physical conditioning
PiYo Strength Fusion combines the more athletic aspects of Pilates and yoga, adds hand weights, a dash of sport and dance conditioning, and gives your body a wake-up call! Strength and balance are the emphasis in this class, and it will challenge your body beyond basic PiYo. Previous Pilates or yoga experience is recommended but not required.
This class teaches the fundamentals of yoga through a combination of flowing poses and deep stretches, followed by deep relaxation. You will cultivate balance, build strength and increase your flexibility. Your instructor will provide individualized attention and hands-on adjustments. Appropriate for beginners as well as more advanced students wishing to deepen and refine their practice.
This fun, flowing class is for anyone looking for a more active yoga class. The class will offer a wide variety of poses which are linked in sequences through fluid movement to generate heat in the body. Conscious movement and contemporary music combine to create an energizing experience that links breath to movement while building core strength and flexibility.
A gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting in a chair or standing using a chair for support. Although anyone can participate in chair yoga, it is particularly beneficial for those with disabilities, weight challenges, inflexibility, and who cannot get up and off the floor. The joints and muscles are worked to enhance flexibility, strength, balance and circulation during a chair yoga class.
Can’t touch your toes? Is your low back chronically tight? Do your shoulders and upper back feel like they will never release? Are you practicing yoga that still results in aches and pains? This unique class is specifically designed to safely increase flexibility and no previous yoga experience is needed.
Think you have to be flexible to do yoga? Think again! This beginning yoga class is designed for every body, regardless of fitness level or yoga experience. Come with an open mind, ready to gently stretch and strengthen your muscles while learning to relax your mind and spirit. Power Yoga (90 minutes)
Everyone can practice yoga. Regardless of age, experience, or level of flexibility. We can all benefit from yoga if we maintain patience. This class is friendly, supportive and attitude-free. Be prepared to hold poses with and without the use of props! You will sweat and work hard, but the results of your efforts will show!
At any age yoga can improve our physical and mental well-being. This beginner level class will focus on yoga postures that can enhance stability and mobility. You will also learn breathing and relaxation techniques designed to refresh and restore the mind and spirit.

Body Pump - Les Mills

Zumba is an aerobic dance class full of Latin and other exotic music flavors. The routines feature aerobic interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba targets areas such as the gluts, legs, arms, abdominals and the most important muscle of the body - the heart! The sexy and explosive Latin rhythms create a party-like atmosphere that delivers results!
Zumba Gold is performed at a lower intensity, not as fast, but it certainly is as fun. The same great Latin styles of music and dance are used. The Zumba Gold program takes physical issues into consideration and strives to improve balance, strength, flexibility and, most importantly, the heart.

Group Indoor Cycling classes offer high-energy stationary bike workouts that increase cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength. We plan our workouts so that you can train in many different zones for a well-rounded workout throughout the week. Your certified instructor will encourage you to be the best you can, but know that personal intensity levels are your choice throughout the ride. These classes are well attended but no reservations are needed.
Stick around after your cycle class for 30 minutes to work all those muscles from your shoulders down to your hips for a strong and balanced core. A strong and happy core equals a strong and happy you!
Group Cycle is an indoor cycling class, led by an instructor who selects music to provide motivation and atmosphere. This program is for all ages and fitness levels. Come take a journey for the mind as well as the body and spirit!
Cycling is a phenomenal cardiovascular workout! If the bikes are a mystery to you, try this 45-minute orientation to the world of indoor cycle including fitting the bike and learning how it works. Enjoy a beginner’s intensity workout and start cycling!

Adult Stroke Technique Clinic (Fee)
Instructor: Mary Jo Jatczak
This hands-on clinic is for intermediate to advanced swimmers interested in improving their stroke techniques. We will train the neuromuscular channels of movement for swimming, beginning with repetition and specific focus, then gradually working to increase endurance. Must be able to continuously swim 100 yards freestyle with rotary breathing.

Aquatic Boot Camp (Fee)
This class is unlike any other class you have taken before. Aquatic Boot Camp is a high intensity, high calorie burning class that is sure to kick start your fitness and weight loss goals. Good swimming ability is a must, getting your hair wet is guaranteed, and challenging your body is the goal. You can expect to burn anywhere from 500 – 1200 calories in one class.

Swim multiple times a week in our Masters Swim program designed to help build endurance and perfect types of strokes. Your coach will provide a program and critique your skills so you can swim faster, longer, and easier.

MS Water Exercise (Fee)
Instructor: Chris Yehle
This 45 minute aquatic exercise class will gently strengthen your muscles, improve balance and flexibility, and provide the light cardio exercise you need within the support of the water. Water offers natural resistance training with every movement as well as helping to keep the body cool whil exercising. We'll use equipment such as noodles or the side of the pool for balance training as needed. This class is a perfect complement to our Chair Yoga.

Parent and Me (Fee)

Our parent and me class is designed to be one of your child's first experiences with swim lessons. Our instructor will guide you and your child through the different ways to become comfortable in the water and prepare your little water bug for future swim lessons.

Swimming for Triathlons (Fee)
Swimming for Triathlons is a training program targeted for beginning or experienced triathletes, Minimum requirements are the ability to swim freestyle a continuous 200 yards. Group workouts will consist of freestyle drills, technique coaching, speed, and endurance development.

Youth Fitness Swimming (Fee)

Youth fitness swimming gives children an introduction to the world of competitive swimming and swimming with other children. All strokes will be introduced/developed. Kids need to be at least a Level 3 or higher skill level and all ages are welcome. If you are not sure of your child's swimming ability, give us a call and we can set your child up with a practice session during this present youth fitness swimming session so an instructor can assess your child's ability.

Our youth private and semi-private lessons are extremely popular here at West Wood. Let’s get your kids confident and safe around the pools and lakes that are so abundant in our area. The AquaFit combines core strengthening, muscle toning, flexibility and cardio exercises. This class innovatively uses the unique buoyancy, resistance and movement of water. This workout is tailored for all fitness levels and is effective and fun! Designed to burn calories and make you sweat!
Arthritis M - Water Exercise (members only please) or Arthritis N - Water Exercise (community welcome for fee)
Designed specifically for seniors. However, all ages, levels and abilities are welcome. Loosen tight, painful joints and get more out of everyday living.
The care and maintenance of your back is just the beginning. Participants strengthen and shape the muscles that support the back, learn proper techniques for everyday activity and enjoy the healing effects of warm water activity.
Balance and Stability Express
This 30-minute express class works on engaging and strengthening your core muscles. This class also focuses on improving your overall balance and awareness of your body by using water's natural motion and the instructor's movement guidance to engage your legs, ankles and core.
Fibromyalgia Activity Class
This warm-water activity class includes stretching, strengthening, aerobic activity and relaxation techniques. Although the class is designed specifically to improve the symptoms of fibromyalgia, it is appropriate for others who may need a low to no-impact class in the therapy pool.
In Too Deep
A fun and challenging workout utilizing buoyancy resistance in deep water. A no-impact workout that is easy on joints yet totally exhilarating for all fitness levels. A flotation device is used.
Take the weight room to the pool! This innovative and challenging workout uses the unique properties of water to strengthen and tone while simultaneously working to balance and stabilize the body.
This low/medium intensity deep-water class offers a head to toe workout in our lap pool. Equipment may include flotation belts and resistance tools. Come join the exercise and have fun "Making Waves."
MTP – Moving Through Pregnancy, Birth & Recovery
This medically driven program is designed to strengthen the muscles most needed for childbirth. This class is safe for all fitness levels and stages of pregnancy. Participation in this class requires a physician’s recommendation.
This yoga/Pilates inspired class will help improve balance, flexibility, coordination and stamina. Leave class feeling refreshed and relaxed.
Easy to learn water exercise using the power of the water with several different types of equipment designed to build strength, increase aerobic fitness, improve flexibility and help control your weight. This class is for all ages and from intermediate to advanced fitness levels.
Tabata Interval Training is one of the most effective types of high-intensity interval training! Mixing this format with the properties of water through a variety of simple yet intense exercises allows each class to blast away the calories and provide noticeable results in a short amount of time. Previous exercise experience recommended for this class.
This is an intense workout for the more conditioned exerciser. Using a variety of resistance tools you will condition and sculpt through a great water workout.
Membership to West Wood is open to youths, 15 years and older. Your child does not need to be a member in order to take advantage of classes for kids.
Family Fitness Time is every Saturday from 1 to 4 pm and every Sunday from 1 to 5 pm. This is a time for you to be active with your children. Shoot some hoops in the gym, swim in the pools, or play racquetball. For safety reasons, kids under 15 may not be on the fitness floor. Children need to stay with their parents at all times. If you choose to work out during Family Fitness Time, please drop the kids off at Kids Club so that they are safely supervised.
At West Wood we feel that every child should learn to swim. We provide a Parent and Me group class for babies/toddlers and parents. We also offer youth swim lessons year around. Classes offered are private or semi-private and can be booked by calling the Aquatic Coordinator at 262-513-7240.
West Wood offers various youth classes in the Mind Body Studio, the Group Fitness Studio and the Recreation Pool throughout the year.
Medically Directed classes are available to members and the community. These classes provide appropriate exercise, that, when attended regularly, can improve various conditions. Classes offered include: arthritis, Fibromyalgia, Back Camp and Structurally Strong (addressing osteoporosis). We also offer pre and post natal water fitness. While these classes are free to West Wood members, community participants need to purchase a pass and get a physician recommendation before participating. Arthritis Water Exercise Class - Warm Water Exercise Class
Participants are led by certifies instructors from the Arthritis Foundation through specially designed exercises to help improve joint flexibility and relieve the pain and stiffness caused by arthritis. Class is held in the warm water therapy pool and is open to anyone experiencing joint or muscle inflammation.

Moving Through Pregnancy, Birth and Recovery (Pre and Postnatal Exercise Class)

This ongoing exercise class is for both prenatal and postnatal women. Taught by our team of certified prenatal exercise instructors, this class is designed to strengthen the muscles most needed for pregnancy, labor and birth. Moderate strength training is included for the upper body, abdomen, back, pelvic floor, hips and legs. This class is safe for all levels of fitness and stages of pregnancy. Physicians’ recommendation must be completed prior to attending the first day of class.
